The door to freedom – your magical spine.

Our spine is a door to so much freedom, as well as to the inner restrictions we carry.

The places we have pains in, the stiffness that is blocking specific parts of the vertebra, as well as weakness in some other areas, are a map of how we move and are in the world.

Not only that the spine connects all parts of our body but it is what holds us erected.

It shows us how we face the world and how we carry our past.

It is enabling us to let loose or it can hold a stiffness that keeps us away from pleasure and ease.

Through the spine we can bring an active energy upwards in our body ad well as path to create relaxation and pouring everything down into the ground.

When this pathway is free, we are free.

Exploring the spine: how it is connected and influenced by the jaw and hips as well as to the belly and chest, is a wonderful way for us to recognize and shift inner structures that are holding us “hostage”, disconnected from who we are today.

Many of the fear-based responses / interpretations we have and the old unresolved experiences that get activated in us unwantedly today, are held in the spine.

The quality of our spine reflects the blue print of how we have learned to relate to our deepest inner power and trust. The outdated version of us we still did not shed.

Some of these structures we have already created in the womb.

Our nervous system had to interpret the pressures and vibrations it was subjected to, to best survive. We had to learn how to respond to the world based on the state of dependency, power and abilities we had back then.

But even those old deep held life /survival lesson are not unchangeable.

The more we let old trapped fear flow through the spine, it transforms into freedom, strength and ease.

The more we dare to move our spine to express the intensity of that accumulated rage, wanting or even frustration, the more it transforms it, into determination and a constant connection to our deepest will and that which we are here to express and create.

Today, I invite you to explore your spine. To use it as the magical door it is to who you are and to the freedom you can get in your life and being.

You can start by simply starting to focus on your way of breathing.

Without trying to change it, start just by paying attention to what is your “normal” way of breathing and how it is affecting and held in your spine. What is being easily moved in the spine when you breathe, and which parts stay untouched.

Once you explored and discovered it, try to intentionally add more effort and tension, to the parts of the spine (and surely other areas of your body, which are connected to it) that are untouched by your breath.

Stay with this conscious effort for couple of moments and pay attention to the way these efforts change your experiencing your livelihood and the way you relate. To yourself and life.

Now try to discover what is the intention/need that is held in this effort?

What are you trying to protect yourself form?

Why do you need to make this effort?

What convictions are jumping into your mind, convincing you that you “must” do this effort?

If you give yourself a moment to add a moment of a question to it- is this true? Is it the only way? Do I want to keep on living like this?

When you perceive an opening in you, for a different choice, a different perspective, take a fuller breath and let go of those efforts.

Keep on breathing and letting go more and more, giving space to whatever intensity and sensation is arising from this area.

Make sure that you allow movement in the rest of our body, especially in your spine and belly.

what is the new choice that you have found?

Can you breathe and allow more movements through your spine while feeling your legs and the determination and strength that can move and flow with in you?

Make sure that you are not returning to holding and contracting those areas in your back as well as not in your jaw, neck or belly.

Breath and insist in creating space to those sensations and to yourself.

Refuse to move into the old defensiveness: not in your muscles and not in your mind.

Take a moment to connect to your bones and the stability they carry.

With that stability you are meant to let go of the spine and the muscles to move and vibrate.

You may find that the stiffness and effort in your spine are part of the fear - based expressions to the self judgement and the inner harshness you carry, one that you had to internalize as you were subjected to pressure and lack of support from others.

You are free to choose to let it go. To free your spine from holding it. The more you move and breathe, the more these pressures and offenses can leave your inner experience and structure.

Now it is the time to bring more movements and space to the area of the spine.

Daring to do so for few minutes, will enable you to “endure” the natural power you have, the truth of who you are. The pleasure and ease of your being.

The more you do that the more you are consciously choosing to trust yourself. The more you are leaving the oppressive structures you internalized. The more your sine can finally be free and become the power transmitter it meant to be.

You can sit and lean back and move your spine from the lowers part to the highest while even allowing your voice to be heard and help create a deeper release and opening in your spine.

You can also lie down and for a few minutes move constantly your spine and dare to follow the intensity of who you are, as it starts to expand. It may be waves of old intense anger. Waves of fiery movements and need to resist. It may be a deep cry that needs to finally be heard and have space. It may be deep pleasure and joy you were often ashamed of. It can be softness and quietness that you thought are what made you weak.

It can be so much that you have needed to co troll hide and oppress, that can expand and then be transformed.

Being yourself, and being free is in your spine. It is in the choice and in the ability to “endure” it in the beginning without going back to the need to hold it stiff and “safe”. The more you take time to do that, the more you will be at ease in your strength and presence. The more flexible adaptive you will be, you will be free to be and respond to life out of that freedom rather than out of the fearfulness or bitterness of the past.

Repeat this for few days and I assure you that there will be so many shifts and changes in your life!

Yours

Anna
