At times life seems to be like those amusement parks;
Slow carousels, big wheels, ghost trains, ferries, and thrill rides.
Just that …. We seem not to know which tickets we bought and how long is the ride…
When we do not know what is it that makes us take those rides, we feel trapped in a horrible experiment. No matter where we find ourselves, and no matter how unexpected, and out of our control, the ride we are on seems to be… we can truly benefit from that ride, and start to explore the choices we are carried by. The meaning our lives have, for us.
What if you stopped for a moment and took the time to feel and pay attention to what is that power, need, and deep wish, that leads you in life?
What burns in you to be felt, be taken care of, or embraced.
What asks you to reconnect?
Where do you find yourself stumbling again and again?
Don’t get upset when your mind rushes to confuse you or try and throw some immediate solutions to this question.
Often that answer can be felt rather than be talked about or wrapped in logic or very defined goals.
We all carry that unique need that asks us, at times it even nags us, to find ways to reveal it, reconnect to it, and let go of everything that may cover it.
Not always will the path we are choosing, the steps we are taking, or the encounters we stay in, seem to be pleasant, nor will we identify the benefit of it quickly.
Life sends us on those carousels again and again so that we can regain all that we are.
So that we can learn and expand. For us to embrace the beauty of our humanity and life.
It may increase the speed, so that we may have the chance to get rid of all those falls beliefs and ideas about ourselves, others, and life, which we king on to.
Often the pain and the difficulty, we seem to encounter, or the fears we circle around and at times cannot find the way out, are not life’s punishment, nor a sign of our worthlessness.
We (are) return(d) to these places, to heal, learn how to connect to our true selves, release old fears, and regain trust in ourselves and life.
Some situations seem to haunt us, because we may have not managed the first time around, to regain the full magic of ourselves.
There might have been valuable pieces we have missed or disrespected their beauty.
We may have managed to push through and fight, but lacked the trust.
Before starting the new year, let’s get to know what ticket did we buy?
Let’s get ready for the rides we will be on.
Let’s embrace the unexpected monsters that will peep out of the dark and the glittery beauty that will shine in our eyes.
Let’s start by taking a moment to settle in our bodies.
Use your breath with attention to wake up all of yourself.
Take the time to reconnect with your physical presence, as you breathe and allow yourself to move.
Remember that whatever you feel, if it is unpleasant and painful, it is no punishment, just a calling for you to connect and let go. And the pleasurable and nice sensations (which we tend to ignore) are asking you to open up and let in.
Pay attention to your spine which runs through you and connects all of your body parts.
This part of your body holds so much of who you are and can be.
Try to bring movement softness, breath, and sensations to it.
When you sense efforts and pressure anywhere on your body try to breathe and let go, or create soft movements that will enable you to better let go, as well as agree to sense what are the feelings and sensations that the tension tried to block for you.
Now allow yourself to remember yourself and the way you came into this life, as a baby.
Your mind will not have an image or a story but all of your cells remember the intention and wish with which you were born.
Take a moment to feel it. It is a feeling, a sensation, a wordless knowing.
Then allow yourself to remember into which surroundings you entered.
What was around you? What feelings? What sensations?
And again, your mind will not be able to see and know, but your body, can and does remember. Remember what you had to adapt to. What you had to do with those parts of yourself, those wishes, and intentions you had when being born, because of the surrounding you were in.
Let yourself remember what you wanted, “knew” and needed, as well as how and what you had to put “on hold”.
Give yourself the time to breathe into that wordless memory.
Allow it to move you and expand in you.
Feel that what was in you, and what you intended and needed to express and experience in this life, your intentions, are there, under all the history you had and the way you had to adapt to the surrounding you were born into.
Keep on breathing and finding that sensation in you. These are physical sensations that shift and move. It can feel at times very expansive and light, embracing the room, and at times sweet and heavy.
You can put your hands on your chest and belly to create a clear sensation of your being. Grounding that intention and knowing inside of you.
Reminding yourself that you are the home for those abilities, intentions, needs, and wishes.
This is the ticket you got for this life, this is you and what leads you, this is what will make you climb those wheels, and enter those ghost rides. This is what will allow you to sit in those glittery carousels enjoying the slowness of that ride.
This is what will allow you to move between the rides, and better choose. It will help you find stability in your legs after a frighting or intense ride.
This will help you see and reveal what you need within yourself to find the best ride for you.
To end this exercise, take a moment and feel where you are in your life at this moment in time. Feel it concerning the memory of you entering your life. Knowing that you have a path to walk on. A path, that is there for you, to benefit you, to heal you, and let you express your humane beauty.
Sensing it, find a place within yourself where you can choose this ride.
Choosing without feeling like its victim. Not blaming your circumstance, or mistrusting your ability to navigate through it.
With this choice, feel the power and ease that can expand slowly within you.
Pay attention to your heart and chest and how it wants air and space.
I wish you a joyful ride in 2023
