Your inner compass of knowing what is right and true for you

Are you able to recognize and be aware of what shapes and influences your choices and decisions?

Choices and decisions are a daily thing. It is the way we interact with the world and express ourselves. Everything we do is in itself a choice. some are conscious some are not at all and some are in between.

In those moments of a crossroad (especially when we are aware of that moment), we want to do the “right thing”. We already know that the “right thing” can be mainly the right thing for us, rather than trying to find that standard somewhere else.

To find the “right” choice means we are able to identify what moves us: the place from which we choose as well as what distortions may have been entangled in our way of us relating to ourselves and life.

These are distractions or distortions that manipulate the way our compass of knowing-what-is-right-for-us works.

We all carry this inner compass. At may seem at time we have no compass at all. No orientation. No clue of what we want or need. It is those aspects of our lives where there are more distortions that have brought that compass to a halt.

A main part of that compass is anchored in our lower belly. It’s signs and signals must be able to resonating in our chest and hearts and continue to echo and vibrate throughout our bodies to then be translated in our minds towards actions and ideas.

If parts in us are blocked, held in restriction or an effortful control, we sabotage the ability of the compass to guide us.

This compass is what will lead you towards new in the sea of the unknown.

This compass works best when you are rooted in yourself. Connected to what truly is with in you, with what is true (right) for you.

It means that you are able to find the connection to your unique motivation. To identify it through the thicket of foreign ideas, inner dependencies that you may still have, or the compensation for some hidden shame or a past lack that left its residues.

I want to offer you a door that can be instantly effective, though not always comfortably, to do so and that is your lower belly. It is a way to “cut through your own bullshit”.

The lower belly, is a place in our body that hosts the most of our survival and thriving energy. The place that vibrates with our vital energy. It is an energy we are born with and is eager to be expressed.

The lower belly is also the soft area that is reacting to the vibrations perceived from the our surroundings. All those shifts and movements of intentions and energies that our eyes cannot see bit we can definitely perceive.

It is a place that gives us the clarity at the crossroad. It listens to what is within us and what is around us. And as such, it shows us how to best move with it.

It is a place from which we are connected to our raw power of life that asks us to be free. To be free to be. A place where we can follow our unbending will in all its glory and still adapt to different situation and people without losing what is important to us.

It is a magical place that when we learn to connect to it, and consciously control it what may seem at times as a real wall we face, will turb out to be just a stiffness we hold in that area. When we allows the vitality to flow there and vibration to resonate, things that seemed impossible will magically melt like a fog we can easily clear.

Here you have an exercise of attention you can follow to better connect to that compass:

Take a moment to think of a decision that you have to make or maybe some repetitive kind of choices you make. Repetitive choice would be a past choice that you continuously and automatically repeating, even if you would like to change it. It can be something like: you would always find yourself choosing or acting in the same way: avoiding paying the bills. Or you always choose to be the one who will wait to the end before you say or do something. Or you always choose to restrict yourself when it comes to money or food or anything else…whatever it is, it can also be the opposite choice.

When you think of one choice /decision as described above, try to feel what happens in your lower belly. It is all the area of the lower belly, the bladder and hips.

Is it freezing any possible motion, sensation or breath?

Can you at all feel that area?

Is there some pressure there? Or does it feel like and empty hole?

What are you doing with the muscles in the area? What are you doing with the muscles in the area of the genitals and behind? (sphincters)

Try not to change anything in the way the area is reacting to the choice / decision.

Take time to feel it and even make it more evident by increasing the motion / lack of motion, the efforts or the awareness to the way you breathe and hold your body even more.

When you are letting yourself dive into this awareness, you can of course close your eyes to make it easier to perceive and concentrate.

· What kind of atmosphere starts to be more evident for you?

· How does the world seem to you?

· Which old memory and interpretation and fears of what can happen, are trapped in or tied with this way of holding the area of the lower belly?

· Which possible danger are you trying to avoid?

Often times when we get stuck in this way we may find ourselves acting on a need to be free and trying to get rid of the restriction would choose something that just burns our energy, spends it in ways that may feel like a relief but will not change that old trapped fear.

So it might be you will see that one specific choice (action) may be followed by another kind of action that is simply the opposite in nature.

Now try to feel and be aware of how the rest of yourself is reacting: the way you hold yourself, the way you think and the way you feel is shaping itself around those restrictions – the old memory of how to be and what is dangerous for you- in your lower belly.

When you are giving yourself the time to learn that place try to observe:

· How do you see yourself?

· How do you judge yourself?

· How does this self-judgment is translated to the way you deal with your vital energy? Does it twist itself inward? Is it eager to push and fight? Is it nervous and as if running in circle?

· Is it cold or warm?

· What threat is there for you that you are twisting your energy in this way? For example being hurt physically? Being humiliated? Being laughed at? Being shamed? Being rejected? Belittled? Someone may go, die…?

Stay with that awareness to the rest of your body but try to breathe in to the deepest part of your lower belly. Such deeper breaths that may be massaging your bladder through the movements of the muscles.

Try to keep the “frame” of that old choice of who you are when you are choosing /deciding, while you start to free and connect to the power and movements in your lower belly and hips.

Stay with that contrast for couple of moments until you build up enough of that movement, energy and desire and only then allow the rest of the body to join and enable the spreading of the experience.

It is always good to open your legs a little more, so that your hips are less held and the you are creating a space for the area of the lower belly, bladder and genitals.

Stay connected with the intensity that may feel too vulnerable, dangerous or not ok for some form of us. dare to feel the movement, the softness and energy in the area. One that you would usually control, push or restrict.

And now, stand up. Keep on fueling that area of the lower belly and pelvis with energy through your attention and breath.

Encourage yourself to dare and feel the strength and intensity of that place even if it will initially bring the intensity of the old threat to be more present in your experience.

Here you have to make a new choice. One that refuses to react. A choice of staying connected to your strength, to letting the fear on other intensity flow so that it can wake up the new choices you can make.

Make sure to sense your legs, make sure you are able to move.

Make sure you dare to feel the depth of the area, the vibrations there as well as the strength and heat that is rested there.

Feel how with doing so you can now encourage your vital energy to be alive. Through conscious breath and letting go of muscles in the area of your behind and of your genitals you can create an invitation and a space for that fire to burn. When you do so, you are letting OUT all those threats, fears, judgments, blames etc. (that were maybe unspoken but felt).

Refusing to eternalize them, nor hold them and give them power over you.

If it helps you can move with your hips as even pushing away those energies that hold your energy. Or you can take your hands and with a pulling movement from the area of the lower belly, pull out all that got trapped there.

Then just stand and breath connecting to that space in the lower belly, feeling your legs and resting your chest, think again of those choices /decision and repetitive situations.

Now what are the choices and wishes that have been opened up for you? What is not right for you? What truly wants to be expressed in you and out of yourself, when that area is cleared? Where does your compass direct you too?

Now that you are aware of the unhealthy / foreign / wounded / twisted intentions you have carried in that area, think of your life and the next weeks and make sure that you re-adjust your way of choosing and acting. Taking that old intention and choice out of the way and opening that path to the true motivation and expression, that fits your life at this moment.

Wishing you the best of luck,

Anna
